Teaching, training, and supervision

I teach, train, and supervise across the UK on clinical sexology, compulsive sexual behaviour, sexual shame, and the application of compassion-focused therapy to psychosexual difficulties. I work with NHS services, professional bodies, charities, and training institutes.

Compassionate Mind Foundation

I have delivered workshops for the Compassionate Mind Foundation, the home of Compassion-Focused Therapy founded by Professor Paul Gilbert. The workshops apply CFT theory and practice to the formulation and treatment of psychosexual difficulties, including desire difficulties, erectile and ejaculatory difficulties, compulsive sexual behaviour, and sexual pain, working with individuals, couples, and in group contexts.

British Association for Sexual Health and HIV

I contribute to teaching and conference programmes at BASHH as a member of the Sexual Function and Wellbeing Special Interest Group, including training contributions for psychosexual practitioners working in sexual health settings.

Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology

I am a Clinical Tutor at CICS, the UK’s leading training institute for clinical sexology. CICS delivers postgraduate-level training in clinical sexology to psychologists, psychotherapists, and medical clinicians. I also sit on their Standards and Advisory Board.

Clinical Psychology and MSc teaching

I have taught on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) programmes at University College London and Royal Holloway, and on Master’s programmes in public health and psychology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the UCL Institute of Education.

NHS supervision and training

I have extensive experience of supervising trainee clinical psychologists on placement within the psychosexual service at 56 Dean Street, and supervise qualified clinicians developing specialist competence in psychosexual work and compulsive sexual behaviour. I have contributed to the development of training material for NHS psychosexual services in the UK.

Independent supervision

I provide supervision to qualified clinical psychologists, psychosexual therapists, and sex and relationship therapists working with compulsive sexual behaviour and related presentations in independent practice.

Speaking and lecturing

I speak nationally on sexual problems, compulsive sexual behaviour, sexual shame, chemsex, and the evidence base for compassion-focused approaches in clinical sexology. For speaking enquiries, please use the Contact page.
